VOLUNTEERING

Our school thrives thanks to the dedication of parents who commit their time to helping at our school.​

Ready to help? Signing up is easy. Volunteer roles are posted on this site for quick and easy sign-up. New opportunities are added throughout the year.

Volunteer Roles

​

Below is a list of the many ways you can become involved.

​​

Kiss n' Ride - Sign up here

 

Throughout the school year, two parent volunteers are needed each morning to assist children exit their vehicles safely and enter the schoolyard. Drop-off is in front of the JK/SK yard from 8:15-8:30 each morning. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:10. New volunteers are always needed and welcome - you do not need to be a user of the program to volunteer.

Pizza Lunch - Sign up here

​

​From October to June, volunteers hand out pizza to students in each classroom, JK to Grade 6, on Mondays (or Tuesdays, when Monday is a holiday) from 11:10 am to 11:30 am. When you arrive for your shift, sign in at the main office and proceed to the corridor by the gym.

​

Class Parent​ – Ongoing during the School Year

​

Class Parents play an important role in keeping their class families up to date on school events, organizing volunteers for excursions and classroom activities, and coordinating gifts for teachers. Signup for this role is in September of each year, through the Volunteer Coordinator. To learn more, you can read the Class Parent Guidelines

Parent Council (CSPC) – Ongoing during the School Year

​

Parent Council is a great opportunity to be involved in our school community. More details can be found here. Details on elections and the nomination process are shared each Fall. Parent Council can be reached at: blessedsacramentcspc@gmail.com.

Cross Country – September/October

​

Volunteers are needed during lunch-time practices to supervise the running route. Sign-up details are shared each Fall.

​

Walkathon – October

​

For our annual Fall fundraiser, BSCS students walk to/from Wanless Park. Class Walkers, Crossing Guards, and Park helpers are needed to make this day a success. Details and a sign-up are shared each Fall.

Carnaval Fun Day – February

​

Each year students participate in a day of activities for Carnaval Fun Day. Parent Council (CSPC) hosts a hot chocolate station that all students rotate through. Volunteers are needed during the morning or afternoon to help make and serve hot chocolate. Details and a sign-up are shared in January/February. 

​

Spring Social – Spring (every other year)

​

The Spring Social is a biennial fundraising event - a great opportunity to get out and socialize with others in the school community. Volunteers are needed to help with planning/organizing and during the event. This year our social is April 10, 2026 at the Cricket Club. Fun Fair – Spring

​

A fun-filled day with inflatables, prizes, games, food, and lots of other activities. Many volunteers are needed the day of to help run the stations/activities. Details and a sign-up are shared each Spring. We also have a few roles for activity conveners to help keep the stations running smoothly (also day-of). If you are interested in a convener role, please email the Volunteer Coordinator to find out more.

Students from our community and former BSCS graduates are also welcome to volunteer (and qualify for high school volunteer hours). 

​

Softball/T-Ball League – May/June

​

Volunteer coaches are needed to help coach their child’s team. Each team has two coaches, and games are played one evening a week at a local park. No experience necessary. Details are shared each Spring. 

​

Grade 8 Graduation Reception – June

​

Each spring, Grade 7 parents host a reception at the church, following the Grade 8 graduation. Grade 7 parent volunteers are needed to help with set-up and supervision during the reception. Details and a sign-up are shared with our Grade 7 classes in the Spring.  

 

Lunch Supervisors

​

We are always in need of parents to help supervise the lunch and play time for our students. If you can give your time to help, please contact the school office to express your interest and find out more. 

​

Field Trip Volunteers

​

Throughout the year, volunteers are also needed to accompany classes on field trips. These opportunities are communicated and organized by your child’s teacher and/or class parent. â€‹
