SCHOOL FUNDRAISERS

Many important activities and resources Blessed Sacrament students are able to enjoy are not covered by the School Board and must be paid for through parent-raised dollars. These include curriculum resources such as JUMP Math workbooks and the Raz Kids reading program, technology in the classroom such as laptops, iPads and smartboards, programs such as Scientists in the School, athletic equipment and uniforms, facilities such as filtered water stations, outdoor recreational structures, and a variety of extracurricular activities. We are very fortunate to have a generous parent community that supports these important fundraising efforts:
Walkathon
The annual Walkathon is typically held in October to coincide with the International Walk to School Week. The walk takes place at a nearby park and includes all students from Kindergarten to grade 8.
All students are provided with nut-free snacks. The students are active in the event by collecting pledges and, more importantly, participating on the day of the walk.
The Walkathon also builds community spirit because the event includes the participation of all students, teachers, staff and many parent volunteers.
Spring Gala
Blessed Sacrament’s Spring Gala is typically held every two years. This fun event provides the perfect opportunity for parents to enjoy a night out and mingle with other parents. The Gala is also an important fundraiser for the school. Funds raised at the Gala help support many important initiatives and activities throughout the year, and support special fundraising initiatives.
Fun Fair
The BSCS Fun Fair is held annually the Saturday before Mother's Day. With something for everyone, it traditionally includes inflatables, motorized cars and carnival games with prizing. Children can also enjoy a photo booth, face painting, loot bags and a book room. A new pet area brings delight to those young and old. Alongside delicious Food Trucks, there is popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, frozen yogurt and a bake sale. Flowers and Herb pots are also for sale just in time for Mother's Day. This is a community event supported by parents, students, teachers and local businesses.
