Blessed Sacrament Elementary School

Survey results

From the CSAC Executive committee, we thank the Blessed Sacrament community for participating in the survey that was distributed in November 2008. 227 surveys were returned; assuming that each family returned 1 survey per family, the return rate was an impressive 67.2%!

To summarize:

  • Computers - would you like CSAC to spend part of our funds on computers for the classrooms? Currently, the school Board (TCDSB) provides 1 computer per classroom; last year, CSAC purchased 10 new computers and the administration would like to purchase more with the goal of having 2 working computers per classroom.
    Yes: 190 (84%)
    No: 12 (5%)
    Unsure/no answer: 25 (11%)

  • Graduation celebration for grade 8 -what type of graduation celebration would you like to see happen each year for our grade 8 students? Currently, the ceremony and awards presentation is included in the mass followed by a brief reception in the Church hall sponsored by the grade 7 parents.

  • Supply teachers - when our teachers are at school-related extracurricular events during the school day (such as sports and tournaments) the students in that teacher's class are dispersed to other classrooms; the school board does not provide funding for supply teachers in these circumstances. In the past 4 years, CSAC has provided funding for supply teachers to avoid dispersion for some of the days. Should CSAC continue this funding?
